RED MAGAZINE.
Culture. Style. Entertainment. And a point of view.
As creative director and editor of RED Magazine, I shaped the publication’s voice, visual identity, and editorial direction—overseeing approximately two to four features and six recurring departments per issue, along with fashion and style coverage. I wrote features and department copy, managed contributing writers, and developed relationships across the entertainment industry.

Everyday hero.
Joan Jett / Interview and feature by Michael Zydzik
“I'd like to propose a theory that every day people, living honest, every day lives, can be heroes.”
In this feature, I interviewed Joan Jett and wrote about the staying power of a performer who helped bring punk’s irreverence and directness into the mainstream.
Excerpt from the surviving opening spread; the complete feature is not reproduced here.
